Compare addiction treatment options
Start with the concern that feels most urgent, then compare program fit, therapy support, substance-specific safety, and practical access. Bring personal questions to admissions so screening can account for current needs.
PHP is a planned future level of care and is not currently open for enrollment. The current adult Austin, TX IOP explains Affirm's adult SUD IOP and the questions that screening can help answer.
A person may need to consider several issues at once, including substance use, therapy goals, work or family responsibilities, transportation, and insurance. Start with the most immediate concern, then use admissions and insurance verification to plan the next step.
A truthful scope
Affirm provides adult substance use disorder intensive outpatient programming for adults 18 and older of all genders at one Austin, TX location. Day and evening programming is available, with exact schedules confirmed by staff.
The first day includes intake and introductions. The first week includes group and individual therapy. Admissions support is available 24 hours for program calls, which does not mean 24-hour clinical or emergency care.
Affirm does not provide detox, residential addiction treatment, inpatient addiction treatment, or emergency services. PHP is opening soon and is not yet enrolling.
Safety and placement
Placement depends on current safety, withdrawal and overdose risk, medical and emotional needs, living support, transportation, other substances, and the ability to participate. Admissions screening helps determine whether IOP may fit or whether another service should come first.
Affirm screens adults for IOP fit. If withdrawal management or another level of care should come first, admissions may coordinate an outside referral. The levels-of-care guide adds comparison context without prescribing a placement.
Call 911 for an immediate medical emergency. Call or text 988 for crisis support. The SAMHSA: Types of Addiction Treatment offers additional authoritative education, but urgent concerns should not wait for a routine admissions response.
Insurance and timing
Ask about current day or evening programming, the screening conversation, commercial benefits, self-pay information, and what would make the first step feel more manageable.
Commercial policies are verified plan by plan. Eligibility, provider status, authorization, medical necessity, deductible, cost sharing, and claims processing can affect payment. Review insurance information to prepare questions.
Keep detailed health information, member IDs, documents, and payment credentials out of the online callback form. Request contact, then ask staff for the appropriate private process.
